Brown 5 Athletics is excited to offer Street Hockey. The goal is to take away the stress of playing the extreme competitive games and offer a step up from recreational games. Wear NHL branded uniform. Returning players will receive a $10.00 discount. NO ICE SKATES - NO ROLLER BLADES

  • Grade levels: 1&2 - 3&4 - 5&6

PRACTICE TIME


Practice is 30 minutes before the game. Coaches are NOT required for teams. We will focus 30 minutes of basic street hockey fundamentals like ball handling, passing, scoring, teamwork and rules. Both teams will be trained at the same time for practice. Afterwards we will proceed to game. Players will be coached up during and after each period.

GAME TIME

EVERYONE PLAYS
We believe that practice help to be better prepared for game time. Unfortunately, competitive and recreation doesn't give every kid a chance to get a decent amount of game time. So, the question is, why practice if you're not playing. Why spent hundreds to get zero playing time. Our program requires our coaches to play every player. The only way to get better is to play the game.

IMPORTANT DATES
  • April 6 - Showcase \ Clinic
  • April 20 - Start of regular season
  • June 1 - End of regular season
  • June 8 - Playoff
  • June 15 - Championship games

We will be using the standard goal frame.
Maximum players on a team 10. Minimum players on a team 7.
We will have hockey sticks and goalie gear at each location. Players will return the sticks and gear after each game.

1&2 Grade - two 17 minutes half. (3 minutes halftime)
3&4 Grade - two 17 minutes half. (3 minutes halftime)
5&6 Grade - two 20 minutes half. (3 minutes halftime)
7&8 Grade - two 25 minutes half. (3 minutes halftime)

FREE AGENT

INDIVIDUAL SIGN UP
Free agents are individual players looking to join a team. We do our best to build a team of 5 players with a minimum of 4 players per team through our free agent process. There are NO tryouts, and we expect a parent to volunteer to coach and or find someone that can coach the team.
