Brown 5 Athletics is excited to offer Street Hockey. The goal is to take away the stress of playing the extreme competitive games and offer a step up from recreational games. Wear NHL branded uniform. Returning players will receive a $10.00 discount. NO ICE SKATES - NO ROLLER BLADES

  • Times: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Grade levels: 1&2 - 3&4 - 5&6

PRACTICE TIME


Practice is 30 minutes before the game. Coaches are NOT required for teams. We will focus 30 minutes of basic street hockey fundamentals like ball handling, passing, scoring, teamwork and rules. Both teams will be trained at the same time for practice. Afterwards we will proceed to game. Players will be coached up during and after each period.

GAME TIME

EVERYONE PLAYS
All practices and games will be played in the indoor gym. We believe that practice help to be better prepared for game time. Our program requires our coaches to play every player. There will be three 15-minute periods. Three-minute water breaks in between each period. That will also be the time to change goalie.

  • NHL Branded STREET team Jersey (PLAYER KEEP)


GOALIE SPECIFIC GEAR
  • Leg Pads
  • Glove & blocker
  • Chest Pad
  • Goalie mask

NOT PERMITTED
  • Skates
  • Elbow pads
  • Shoulder pads
  • Ice hockey pants
  • Ice hockey goalie equipment

IMPORTANT DATES
  • April 19 - Start of regular season
  • May 31 - End of season
  • June 7 - Playoffs/ Championship games

We will be using the standard goal frame.
Maximum players on a team 10. Minimum players on a team 7. (5v5)
Maximum players on a team 10. Minimum players on a team 6. (4v4)
Maximum players on a team 10. Minimum players on a team 5. (3v3)

We will have hockey sticks and goalie gear at each location. Players will return the sticks and gear after each game.

1&2 Grade - Three 15 minutes period. (3 minutes break)
3&4 Grade - Three 15 minutes period. (3 minutes break)
5&6 Grade - Three 15 minutes period. (3 minutes break)


FREE AGENT

INDIVIDUAL SIGN UP
Free agents are individual players looking to join a team. We do our best to build a team of 5 players with a minimum of 4 players per team through our free agent process. There are NO tryouts, and we expect a parent to volunteer to coach and or find someone that can coach the team.
